Our lumber is NOT seconds. This is a family-owned shop that has land with timber which are managed/harvested. Southfork Mill has its own sawmill, kiln, and molder to manufacture all products in house. There are no middle men from start to finish. This helps keep prices more than competitive. Rough sawn, planing available.

Many places sell lumber/lumber products by the lineal foot. This means, for example a 1 x 6 x 8 would have 8 lineal feet. However, there is only 4 board feet and board feet is how you measure and figure out how much product you require for your job. All our product is sold by the board foot. A board foot is 1 inch x 12 inches x 12 inches. Let’s say you want to put tongue and groove end matched on a wall that measures 8 feet high and is 17 feet long. Just multiply your two measurements and that is exactly how many board feet you need. So, in this case 8 feet times 17 feet = 136 board feet.
